Bayley Training
Overview
This is a two-day workshop on the Bayley III and an introduction on the Bayley 4*.
The Bayley assesses developmental functioning for infants and young children aged from 1 month to 42 months. The training is interactive and will introduce course participants to the Bayley III and 4 and includes both video case studies and video demonstrations with young children.
Participants will learn how to administer and score the Cognitive, Language and Motor scales and will have the opportunity to practice administration in their own homes supervised by the trainer.
Administration and scoring of the Social Emotional and Adaptive Behaviour Scales is also included in this training. Additional practice in administering the test items will be required after the training in order for examiners to become fully competent Bayley testers

Who is it for?
Community and general paediatricians, neonatologists, paediatric trainees, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, researchers and any health professional involved in the detailed developmental assessment of infants and young children, are invited to attend.

Please note, as the complete test kit (which includes the manual) is needed to administer the Bayley, the manual is not provided as part of this training. Whilst it is not necessary to have a Bayley kit prior to attending this training it is advisable to have the complete kit with manual available as soon as possible after the training in order to practice administration.

About the course trainer
Dr. Betty Hutchon DSc MBAOT
The workshop will be presented by the UK Bayley trainer - Betty Hutchon - Consultant and Neurodevelopmental Therapist, University College Hospital, London and Head of Paediatric Occupational Therapy at Royal Free Hospital, London. Betty has worked extensively with the test publishers providing training on the previous edition of the Bayley and subsequently she worked with the US team as a consultant in the revision to produce the Bayley III
