Product Details

TOWRE-2 provides an efficient means of monitoring the growth of two kinds of word reading skill that are critical in the development of overall reading ability.

  • Use for early detection, diagnosis of disabilities, and research purposes.
  • Assess the number of real printed words that can be accurately identified within 45 seconds.
  • Measure the number of pronounceable printed non-words that can be accurately decoded within 45 seconds.

TOWRE-2 can be used to monitor progress in growth of word-level reading skills three or four times per year.

  • Two new subtests: Sight Word Efficiency (SWE) and Phonetic Decoding Efficiency (PDE).
  • Each of the two subtests has four alternate forms, A through D.
  • Any of the forms of each subtest may be given depending on the purposes of the assessment.
  • Uses norms from over 1,700 individuals ranging in age from 6 to 24 years and residing in 12 states and Washington, DC.
