The Rivermead Behavioural Memory Test for Children (RBMT-C) provides guidance for the establishment and alleviation of daily practical difficulties encountered by the child.

Features

  • It comprises a number of subtests, each attempting to provide an objective measure of one of a range of everyday memory problems reported and observed in subjects with memory difficulties.
  • Standardized for use with children aged 5–10 years.
  • Norms are available for six age bands ranging from 5 –10 years 11 months.
  • For each sub test the raw score is converted into a standardized profile score depending on the age of the child. These are summed to give an overall profile score.
  • Four parallel versions of the test allow for repeated assessments.

The RBMT-C has been validated using the observations of houseparents of children with severe epilepsy. The houseparent’s rated everyday memory failures. 0.71 correlation was observed between houseparents’ ratings and children’s scores.
