			<h3>The Importance of Social-Emotional Learning for Academic Development</h3>

			<p>Students with well-developed social emotional skills spend more time on task and more time helping others, resulting in a decrease in negative behavior and significant increases in learning opportunities and academic achievement. The key elements of these social emotional skills are: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. A deficit in any of these skills can lead to behavior and emotional difficulties and less involvement in academics.</p>
