The Cognitive Linguistic Quick Test (CLQT) enables you to quickly determine severity ratings for five primary domains of cognition (attention, memory, executive functions, language and visuospatial skills) and a Composite Severity Rating for adults with known or suspected neurological impairment due to strokes, head injury or dementia.

CLQT's ten tasks tap specific cognitive skills within a short period and with relatively simple administration and scoring procedures. The ten tasks are:

  • Personal Facts
  • Symbol Cancellation
  • Confrontation Naming
  • Clock Drawing
  • Story Retelling
  • Symbol Traits
  • Generative Naming
  • Design Memory
  • Mazes
  • Design Generation.

Use CLQT results to target areas for direct treatment or everyday management of impaired skills, identify the need for more in-depth testing, or help determine a different diagnosis. The full test can be administered at a table or bedside, as long as the patient can sit up and use a pen.

Special effort was made to create some tasks with minimal language demands to assist in evaluating the cognitive functions of examinees with language disorders such as aphasia.

Coming Soon - New 2017 Supplement!

  • New study completed on using this test for people with aphasia
  • Two new domains when you complete an administration for people with aphasia: Non-Linguistic Cognition and Aphasia Severity
  • Updated summary and scoring pages
