Pearson Assessment are proud to be sponsors of the SEN School of the Year Award, part of the TES School Awards 2014.
Background to the Award
Special needs schools provide invaluable support to students – teachers in these schools work every day to make sure that children who may not be able to attend conventional schools do not go without the great education that they deserve. This award was open to any type of standalone special needs school.
Applicants were asked to tell the judges why the academic year 2012/13 has been outstanding for their school, citing successes and improvements. Judges wanted to see quantifiable evidence to support their case. For example, improvements in attendance levels, staff retention, parent engagement or examination results. Or something else entirely; the judges want to look beyond traditional methods of measurement at real innovation across the board.
