Comprehensive assessment of 5 areas related to handwriting speed, providing a standardised score for normative comparison and requesting access arrangements for examinations. Allows observation of qualitative and quantitative handwriting speed performance. Clear administration and scoring instructions, OT service audit showed extremely high levels of intra-rater and inter-rater reliability. A much needed assessment tool for OTs and teachers working with children with handwriting difficulties.

This excellent test fills a long-awaited gap in the assessment of handwriting speed.

With its range of tasks and the availability of UK norms it provides a more comprehensive assessment of how fast children actually write than any others on the market.

In addition, qualitative information gleaned by observing the child responding to the tasks has proved invaluable in planning targeted intervention programmes. I use it nearly every day!
